Here’s a small poem for the sailors, on Pearl Harbor day, I thought about you today when I slowly got out of bed this morning. I’m a civilian now and I figured I would write something for you.
Ships sinking…
Fire storms leaving Naval Officers thinking…
The Navy never fails, we stand strong through it all…
Even in death we never give up…
Even in defeat our God gives us victory…
We sleep in steel water tight cages, we train until our body goes numb…
From sea to shining sea, men and women of all colors…
Withstanding and defying the laws of nature, we set sail on the roughest seas.
For one constitution, a nation United for every soul dreaming to be free.
From the battle hymns of the republic, to the minds of feeble citizens prone to forget.
The seat that sits empty gives us more strength.
If we lose our will to never give up, our flag will be stained, if we stand up and fight, our flag will remain.
In God we trust so as sailors we train.
Blue Angels in the sky to remind the world that divine blood flows through our veins.
In times of peace we must never forget, that there are enemies lurking til this day that are still full of sh*t.
Anchors Away Navy brothers and sisters, never sleep on the promise of Freedom. Stand watch and stay strong through it all so the idea of freedom will never fadeaway. Even when the battle ends and our children’s children steer the ships that we once slept in, let’s hope they remember the sleeping giant of Pearl Harbor Day.
Carry on.
