The Undiscovered Color

“Do you see what I see?” Ronnie asked his copilot.

“I don’t think there’s a word for what we’re seeing,” Ray replied.

“It appears to be oozing out of that volcano.”

“Copy that, let’s get closer.”

Ronnie and Ray dropped their plane a few notches and lowered their cameras to zoom in.

They couldn’t believe what they were seeing. It was as though the sun was creating something brand new right before their very eyes.

“If we can see it, then it must be normal,” Ronnie explained.

“We can’t see the air and it’s normal.” Ray replied.

“I wonder if we can get a sample,” Ronnie said.

“It may be wise to wait until it cools down. Every time we drop a notch I can feel the heat. Let’s stay elevated, besides, I think we’ve got enough pictures.

At first publish the world became astound. People from all over the world couldn’t believe what Ronnie and Ray had discovered and once scientists got ahold of the images they began the race to figure out what chemical bond could create such a color that appeared to register in the brain something that had never been seen before.

“We have to get samples,” Gloria told her team of scientists.

The race was on to the untapped volcanic region and once it cooled, in came the explorers.

Landing on pure hardened lava, there it was. Not gold, not silver or even black. It was a color that had never been seen before. A gateway into a new part of the sun. New flowers,  a whole new mix. As scientists began to take samples they noticed something strange. When the color would touch the plastic cups they would disappear and the new color would almost appear to swallow up all of the other colors.

“This is alien stuff here,” Gloria said.

“It may be wise to keep this away from our skin,” Frank said noticing that the color was so strong that it devoured everything.

“This stuff has too much energy, it bonds like a magnet to everything, plastic, metal, and even rocks. What is this stuff? Did it come from the volcano or space?” Mahon said sarcastically.

“Let’s go back and regroup. This is classified stuff here,” Gloria told her team.

As news spread, people started acting very strange. One revered preacher had convinced his congregation that God himself had returned in a different form. People started wearing mask in fear that they would breathe in the color and disappear.

It was safe to say that the world’s people were losing it over a color that had never been seen before. Countries literally stopped their wars believing that the energy harnessed inside of this new colorful material was sent from God to help battle the energy crisis. Nuclear disarmament treaties were being signed as world scientists began to measure the material’s with lasers that would send back signals and disappear when coming in contact.

Hippies started wearing tie dye t-shirts with words like, the sun is sending us a message of love.

In all of the craze there was only one scientist brave enough to try and touch the new colored material with his bare hands. His name was “Ton Smith, and he broke every rule in the book to get to the undisclosed location and he used a satellite to stream his mission. Reaching the destination he took his finger and touched the never before seen color. Everyone watching saw him disappear in thin air. The color consumed his entire being as his soul awoke inside of the basement floor of a portion of the pyramids.

Realizing that the new color was a gateway into another world he found himself inside of a pyramid sphere with giant colorless people. The color was a gateway for the other world to enter, but they were too afraid, the more the new color consumed the more it gobbled up the world.

The government made it clear that this new discovery was restricted and never to be visited but there was no counter as the color consumed everything and everybody it came in contact with it was spreading like a wildfire. It was like an unknown element that no one could control. In the end everyone’s flesh would be devoured by the color and their soul would rise to the elevation of the sphere underneath the pyramids. A new world was born and everyone was the same color. No one could complain. They all got what they asked for.
