In my down time I often sit back and watch the birds of the sky, but there is no bird more interesting than the black birds. They observe, they watch, they study and somehow this is how they survive. This makes them unique. I chose this topic because last Independence Day while everyone celebrated and lit off fireworks for some strange reason these birds all gathered together in a nearby tree and stood watch. I observed and recalled some old words of wisdom, “If you need a sign from a divine source that something is about to happen, take a moment and watch the animals.” Curiously, I couldn’t help but wonder who the cunning black birds answer or report to. I wanted to end this piece on a good note, but in reality this bird is not easily fooled by the scarecrow and after a massacre these cunning black birds eat the flesh of dead humans. My purpose for writing this piece is that we can learn a valuable lesson from this bird. The lesson that I personally learned a few months ago when one of these precious birds got hurt is that for some reason the bird came to me for help. One of these amazing birds stood in the back and waited for me for some odd reason. Out of all of God’s creation why did these unfortunate black birds trust me to bury their dead. In deep thought, I found a friend in the cunning black birds. Since then, I’ve become accustomed to their presence and every Independence Day we stand watch while dressed in all black. At night no one can see us, but we can see them through the thick smoke. In the midst of a long hard battle through life I turn to these birds for wisdom, they never change and they know who to trust. They’ve become accustomed to independence, they’re sovereign.
The Sovereign Black Birds.
