The Moon & God

Who are we?

In our hard times when we’re filled with pride.

Money falling out of our pockets.

Who are we?

When the rich and famous cannot save us.

When war is eating away at our flesh and bones.

When we’re weary—

Joining hands with no ray of hope.

The flesh without spirit doesn’t move friend. It’s nothing but meat for the animals to eat.

The spirit needs fuel.

The spirit needs vision, eyes to see while dwelling inside of the body.

So I ask.

Who are we?

I see the madness of man and I too at times deserve no mercy.

Alone in a cruel world trying hard not to break the rules, yet I fail every time.

My mind wonders off into believing that I can save the world on my own, but I must comprehend that I did not make the moon to glow at night.

I didn’t make all of the rules and fine things that construct convenient living.

I did not make the earth that spins.

I can only imagine.

So I say brethren.

So I say friend.

If you’re not afraid to believe or use the term of a living  God that breathes life into mortal flesh.

I say that I’m with you.

If you’re not afraid to use the word God while writing or comprehending the nature of man, I say that I’m with you.

A living God in the terms of physics and science that when thought of brings mortal men to wonder.

A living God that proves us all wrong when we think we’ve got it all figured out.

Brethren I confess, filled with knowledge, I admit that I’m still blown away at the thought of God.

These are the thoughts of powerful people, pharaohs, queens, and kings. All dead in the flesh but spiritually awakened in another life of wonders facing the truth.

I confess that I believe that even if the Sun were to burn and the moon were to fall from the sky, I believe that God would create another one of each for whatever life he chooses to use them for.

So in your poor state and your dumb fragile feeble mind, even if you are rich and secluded from society, as long as you acknowledge that there is something greater to believe in. As long as you believe in the power of an unfathomable force called God, I am with you.

I will conclude, that if you don’t believe in God and you believe that everyone and everything is just here, I do not judge you, but I will warn you that you may wear yourself out. You may get a little tired trying to carry the weight of the moon. You may get confused and lonely. You may do things without a conscience and you may wonder why the people around you don’t feel the same way you do in a life with no creators outside of mom and dad. I will not even curse you if you don’t believe. I still love you.

So in a world of trouble, I ask again.

Who are we?

In the wee hours of the night, lonely, with no women and no gas on to keep me warm something or someone is in my mind telling me to light a fire and showing me how.

Something or someone is providing me with light from the moon so I can read and see at night.

We are his people, we are his children. Even if we turn away he shows us who he is.

He is God.
