What is a Query Letter?

Ambitious writers and film makers need doorways just like anyone else in the entertainment world. A query letter is suppose to give you that doorway. Query letters are submitted to major publishers or theatres with a synopsis and a few sample pages designed to impress them enough to pick up your work. Most do write back saying they like your work or not it depends on the agency you send it to. To sum it up, a query letter is like a request to be noticed and accepted by a major publisher.
