The Imaginary Dads...

"Oh...That's why the sky is blue in the daytime," Emmett said as his foster parents watched him talk to someone next to him. He did this quite often and no one ever asked why.
"That was a good one..." Emmett responded to no one in the corner.
"I knew it, I knew she would keep her word," Emmett kept repeating.
After about three months of this, Emmett's foster parents returned him back to the orphanage. When he got there, he met a girl named Rhianna. Rhianna was a special little girl. At night she would talk to the stars. Her and Emmett got along great, but they really didn't speak to the other orphans that much. Everyone at the orphanage would get a kick out of watching them both talk to whomever they had been seeing in their imagination. Two nights after summer had ended, Rhianna made a promise to Emmett.
"When we get old enough, I'm going to marry you Emmett... You and I... We're going to do things the right way. We're going to have a real family. If our bond is broken, when I die, I will come back for you, in another life," Rhianna assured Emmett while holding his hands by the window with light from the stars shinning down on them.
Emmett felt his heart grow as he embedded that very moment in his brain. As time went on, Emmett and Rhianna got separated; Emmett grew to see many things in his rough life and he searched and searched for Rhianna but could not find her. To feel loved, is all Emmett ever wanted. In all of his days on earth, he hadn't felt true love until the moment Rhianna had spoken those words to him. Growing older, he had stopped talking to his imaginary friend, until the night he was placed on a psych ward. Sitting there shaking, as millions of images flashed through his mind, the nurse injected him with his meds, but only the image of Rhianna could really keep his blood flowing. Slobber would fall from his mouth as he would always sit by the psych ward door waiting and screaming Rhianna's name. After days passed, Emmett found a chapel inside of the hospital where he would go and speak with his imaginary friend, whom he hadn't talked to in a long time. The next morning, the light from the windows shined in. Having a hard time opening his eyes, Emmett noticed that he and Rhianna were both at the alter. Tears began to fall from his face.
"I had a feeling I would find you here," she said, getting Emmett's full attention.
"I don't understand, how did you find me?" Emmett said embracing her with a heartfelt hug.
"Your father came and got me," Rhianna explained.
"My father?" Emmett replied in shock.
"Yes; look Emmett, look at all of these people at our wedding. It's our day, they're watching us just like they used to at the orphanage. I told you I would come back for you," Rhianna said, as the Pastor told him to kiss the bride.
When the doctors and psych techs came looking for Emmett in the Chapel, he was not there. Rhianna kept her promise and had come back for him, in another life. While the bells rang with the two of them walking to the chariot, she looked up at the bright star and thanked her father, whom had been there waking her up every morning, with all of his angels in the sky giving her something to watch at night. All along, the two of them had imagined something much greater than a dad. They both had imagined a day where everyone would be happy, not sad. Smiling at the alter with cheer, there dads where always there just not here.

Defining Paleolithic Art

Paleolithic Art, can simply be defined, as art from the stone age era. Modern day art, would not be defined as Paleolithic.

Common Cents

It was a hot day and Kara could not even afford her favorite brand of water. She had to have been sitting in front of that store window staring at that water for at least five minutes. After giving up on the reality that she could not afford it, she went home and got some water out of the sink. She then walked to the car dealership and had her eyes on this beautiful drop-top convertible, realizing she couldn't afford it, she walked back home. Kara was sad and her rent was due. Realizing she had no money to pay it, she went to live in the woods under a tree. Her pet dog ran away because she couldn't afford to feed him, so she made friends with the animals in the forest. Since she couldn't afford her medicine, she just gave-up on trying to get a refill. She couldn't afford to eat, so she ate from the apple tree in the forest. Laying there on a log, half asleep, an angel came to Kara, in the form of a sparrow. The angel touched Kara and it began to rain money. When Kara awoke, there was money everywhere. She couldn't believe it. She came running out of the woods as she noticed everyone was so happy. The happiness could be felt, because everyone was outside moving around. Her homeless friend Dave couldn't believe it.
"Oh God. Jesus has finally come! Praise the Lord!" he shouted, running out of the woods with her.
It was unreal. The stock market was off the charts as the green cloud went from city-to-city, county-to-county, and place-to-place. Pretty soon, there wasn't anything or any one left in the stores and all of the excitement soon died down. Kara had walked back into the woods and didn't move, she just slept. After all of the mayhem, she walked out of the forest and saw how everything had become worthless. Kara went back into the woods and drank from the well and went back to sleep. Her dreams seemed to excite her more than reality. Flying high in her dreams, her friend Dave woke her up and gave her a flower, fresh from the ground.
"This is for you princess Kara, because of you, we're all equal, because of you, we will use our common cents."

The Golden CAV

It was the dreaded day of 06/06/2066 and the beast had been roaming the earth looking for souls. There was one man amongst all of the people possessed that stood strong amongst the flock. This man was Joshua, the son of Jacob. Joshua had heard from the God one night as he awoke in a cold sweat,
"Joshua, son of man, the people have become lazy and fragile, they have forgotten how to worship me; come up to the mountain and witness a miracle," the God said.
Joshua went up to the mountain to speak with the God and witnessed a miracle. Joshua stayed up in the mountain for three months, it was the God's time. When he came down, the people had become even more drunk and lazy. They had been so drunk from fornication and filth that they took all of their precious gold and built a huge computer floppy disk called the CAV. When Joshua came down he fell to his knees, "My Lord, look at what they have done, the people have created a floppy disk to worship," Joshua explained. One of the kids emerged from the crowd,
"You're a hater Joshua. You should be down here with us, celebrating and getting drunk instead of seeking wisdom and knowledge," the kid proclaimed. Another kid emerged from the crowd with his middle finger held high and spit in Joshua's face.
This angered the God and lighting struck the floppy disk and completely annihilated the computer's RAM. Joshua then put his hands up in the air as the people fell to their knees begging the God to save them from their sins. As the huge golden CAV fell from the computer tower, the people scattered like roaches.
"Joshua, save us!" A voice from the crowd shouted.
Joshua watched as the people fled for safety.
He then pulled out a book with 1 and 0's on every page and shouted.
"My people, I give you, the USB Hard Drive! With 800 terabits." Joshua proclaimed.
All of your little golden sinful data and memories will be stored on it, and with one click, the earth will be cleansed, after I delete the data," Joshua stated, coming down the mountain with the hard drive.
He then placed it into the computer and typed in the numbers 08/08/2088.
Once the numbers were programed into the computer, there was a new earth, and the people were cleansed. New knowledge filled the land, and everyone fell to their knees thanking Joshua for sacrificing all of his time to be with the God. Joshua did not regret choosing knowledge over sin and wisdom, especially, after what he had witnessed. Once all of the calamity and restoration had come to an end, Joshua then prayed to the God and thanked him for the miracle. At the end of Joshua's life, he pulled out a vinyl record and listened to the Lord's music created by the Lord's people. Joshua had saved mankind.

The Father

I'm lost in the jungle and I don't know how I got here.
There is a tree in the distance.
The tree won't move and I have no tools to cut it down to make a fire.
All I can remember, is one word from the father.
That one word, led me on this lonely journey.

I too, am delicate in thought.
I too, must overcome the power of circumstance.
In this lonely jungle, where I stand is my home.

No one is around to help me or teach me how to survive.
Father, will you come looking for me?
Will my cheer as a child give you the strength to come looking for me?
I won't be upset if you leave me here, or don't find me.
All I can do, is try to find a pathway out.
All I can remember, is one word from the father.
That one word, led me on this lonely journey.

I too, am delicate in thought.
I too, must overcome the power of circumstance.
In this lonely jungle, where I stand is my home.

The sun is there in the morning as usual and I'm tired of trying to find a pathway out.
I will sit under this tree and wait.
I then hear a voice from afar.
The image of the father has found me.
I wasn't alone after all;
The father was always there.
The look on his face as we searched for a pathway home was enough to show me that he cared.

Defining Genre

What you will notice about art, is that each artist has a style that has to be categorized; some artist have a way of altering styles from each generation, while revolutionizing the next. Culture and experiences define how some artist find different ways to project what people like or need to feel. The word genre is just a way to categorize styles, types of music, literature and other forms of art.

Why is tech week so critical for theatre actors?

Tech week is critical because it allows the actors and directors involved with the production much needed time to polish things up. An actor should never miss a rehearsal, especially when directed not to. It's very important for an actor to get comfortable with his or her role on stage. Tech week provides the director and assistants with that much needed time to make sure things are on point and in-line with the criteria involved once the show goes live.
